What To Expect in Washington In The Near Future
Welcome to the Real Estate Espresso podcast, your morning shot at what’s new in the world of real estate investing. I’m your host Victor Menasce. On today’s show, we’re looking at what we can expect during President Trump’s presidency.
We’ll start with cabinet appointments. Many of these positions will require senate confirmation. One appointment that’s particularly interesting, and is receiving little coverage in mainstream media, is that of Robert F Kennedy Jr., who has been appointed to a position in charge of health and human services. This appointment isn’t too controversial. However, a number of other appointments, such as Matt Gaetz for attorney general, are certainly raising eyebrows in Washington.
Furthermore, RFK has been appointed to lead a commission examining presidential assassinations. This position will not require senate confirmation. With political violence becoming a focal area since Donald Trump was the subject of two assassination attempts, and an unknown number of other foiled attempts during his presidential campaign, this is a significant role. The President-elect has promised during his campaign that he would declassify the reports relating to the JFK assassination and investigation into RFK’s assassination.
RFK has been petitioning Joe Biden for more than a year to declassify JFK files. Bringing these reports to the public is likely to open wounds in the hearts of citizens. The idea is that citizens need to know they can trust their government and trust can only be restored through truth and transparency. There are times when we tell ourselves that everything is fine, even when it’s not. Then there are times when we face difficult truths and must realign with reality. These reality checks are tough, but necessary.
America is currently having its Glasnost moment. They need the raw data and need to put it into the hands of proponents of transparency, such as Elon Musk and Peter Thiele. Republicans call this accountability; Democrats call it revenge, but it’s really about transparency in government. The appointment of Vivek Romashwamy and Elon Musk with the Department of Governmental Efficiency is aimed at driving transparency and higher accountability in government.
The Commission to Investigate Assassinations will probe the two assassination attempts against President Trump. Much about the assassination attempt in Butler Pennsylvania doesn’t make sense. The number of shots fired and the sounds of the shots combined suggest there had to have been more than one shooter. Mainstream media has hardly covered the details of this assassination attempt.
As a host, I maintain a neutral stance and am not a supporter of President Trump. However, I want you, the listener, to be prepared for what’s to come in Washington over the next few weeks and months. In my observation, Bobby Kennedy has proven to be a major force in the Trump administration, and mainstream media has struggled to report on Bobby Kennedy. The primary funders of mainstream media – big pharma and big food – see Bobby Kennedy as a threat.
This administration feels different from the previous Trump administration, particularly in its vehement stance against corruption. Naturally, many who fear this change come out in opposition. They evade the real issue by resorting to name-calling and character assassination. This administration is poised to tackle epic battles, both domestically and internationally. In particular, the Trade wars are expected to result in dropping oil prices. This and other economical ripple effects can cause a drop in world oil prices. They’re trying to kill the new shale industry for the second time in a decade.
As you digest all this, have an excellent rest of your day. Make great things happen. And we’ll talk to you again tomorrow.
